St Mark's Community Garden is Flourishing
Our growers and gardeners have been busy Monday planting, harvesting and building dead hedges. We have also held our very first Repair Café!
One of our new members brought along a cable that needed repairing, which turned into a great opportunity for a soldering demonstration. Some members picked up a new skill, and we ended the session with a repaired microphone lead. Whether unleashing those karaoke skills at the Summer BBQ was a good idea or not remains to be seen!
We also made plans to install some new workbenches with vices, kindly donated by our friends at STEC which were destined for the tip. The children had a much better name for them though – “Minecraft crafting tables”!
Another exciting project involved a ride-on mower that we’re hoping to restore and find a new home for.
The Repair Café will take place on the first Monday of every month – everyone is welcome! ![]()
Work is also continuing behind the scenes on launching our Tool Library. If you’d like to find out more or sign up, get in touch or pop in for a brew and a chat. We’re at the garden every Monday from 9am–12 noon.
